COSTUME PROPS
ANNABELLA SCHMITTS COSTUME
PRODUCTION - THE 39 STEPS
SET & COSTUME DESIGNER - ANNA AVEROF
PROP MAKER - ROXANNE SPENCE
DIRECTOR - MARTIN
This collaboration required a lot of communication along with trial and error. As the design of the dress developed, so did the prop. Kate had to alter the dress to create the quick change fast enough, applying fastenings to the shoulder straps, this was to undo and drop the top half of the dress down far enough to slide and secure the knife in the small pocket attached to a gusset.
The costume prop, made by Roxanne Spence, had to be attached to the back of Annabella Schmitt's costume in a 15 second quick change, where the character is suspiciously murdered out of scene.
JACOB MARLEY COSTUME
PRODUCTION - A CHRISTMAS CAROL
COSTUME DESIGNER - ROSIE BERRY
PROP MAKER - ABI STUSHNOFF
DIRECTOR - SEAN LINNEN
For the construction of Jacob Marley's costume, Kate was given broken down/painted plastic chains from the props department to sew to the jacket. Kate used button hole thread to attach the plastic chains to ensure they were secure.
